Route:

If you live and work here or have vacationed in the area before, you know how busy the highways are in Florida. They drive fast, there is too much "Road Rage" and construction is a common daily occurrence. It's difficult and stressful driving in a strange city but now you can count on the Florida Jitney to get you to your destination of choice, safely, quickly and in the style you have become accustomed.

The Central Florida Express travels along a very popular route. From one end of the Central Florida Express to the other takes up to 2 hours, 30 minutes and covers a distance of over 175 miles each way.

Beginning on the northern end of the route, here are the stops as the Jitney proceeds in its southerly direction:

  1. Begins at the Haile Plantation, Village Green, near the Haile Plantation Hall and Haile Market, approximately 10 minutes west of I-75 via SW Archer Rd.
  2. The University of Florida Campus, at the Reitz Union Student Center in the Circle Drive.
  3. Our Southwest Gainesville stop: The Citgo Gas Station and Convenience Store, located on the Southwestern corner of SW Williston Rd and SW 34th St. Next to the Travel Lodge, the Citgo is across the street from the entrance to I-75, exit #382
  4. Ocala, Exit #350, Highway 200, just west of I-75, at the Steak n' Shake.
  5. Belleview, exit #341, just east of I-75, on Highway 484 at the CITGO-Dunkin' Donuts Convenience Store. This is the closest stop for guests traveling from Summerfield, Marion Oaks, Dunnellon, Beverly Hills and Crystal River.
  6. Wildwood exit# 329, just west of I-75 in the TA/Travel America Travel Center. This is also the nearest location for travelers from Inverness, Locanto and The Villages.
  7. The Florida Turnpike at US Highway 27, just off the Turnpike at the Days Inn Hotel.
    This is the nearest stop for travelers coming from Okahumpka, Howey-In-The-Hills and northern Clermont.
  8. The Orlando International Airport. Terminal B, Ground Transportation, Commercial Lane B-48/49
  9. The Orlando International Airport. Terminal A, Ground Transportation, Commercial Lane A-43/44.
  10. Mall at Millenia, the Bus Lane near Panera Bread, which is in between two major department stores, Bloomingdale's (to the right) and Macy's (to the left.)
  11. International Drive, Prime Outlet Plaza, in front of Starbucks.
  12. Universal Studios, Bus Passenger Drop-Off/Pick-Up Lane, which is approximately a 5 minute walk to the entrance of CityWalk, the Universal Entertainment District.

SCHEDULE:

The schedule is constructed so that destinations read in a downward fashion. Next to the Location is the time that the Jitney arrives and departs from the location. Most Jitney stops are very expeditious. Usually within two to three minutes, the Jitney has arrived and departed from any given location station.

Therefore, we submit this gentle reminder to our guests that it is essentially important to make a reservation at least 12 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up.

N/A: Guests that arrive at the Orlando Airport and board the Central Florida Express are not allowed to exit within the city of Orlando. The first stop where guests may exit is the Florida Turnpike at US Hwy 27 north of the city of Clermont.

STATION LOCATIONS:

We have selected for our guests the finest Station Location's we could find in every locale where the Florida Jitney stops to drop off or pick up guests.

In the olden days, the depots of the one or two national bus companies in the United States, were usually located in dingy and unsafe inner city neighborhoods; in areas where travelers didn't necessarily want to find themselves. On the contrary, we have selected destinations that fit the lifestyle of our guests; near great retail shopping, the finest neighborhoods, fabulous restaurants, museums and so much more. So with the Florida Jitney, the best travel options make for a wonderful journey. And our Station Locations make for great Destinations!

    A complete range of services. Quick service dining, an abundance of retail. A university hotel is located adjacent to the Student Center.
  3. Gainesville, Southwest. The CITGO Gas Station and Convenience Store, located on the southwest corner of SW Williston Rd. and SW 34th St.
  4. Ocala, FL. The Steak n' Shake Restaurant, 3800 S. W. College Rd. I-75, Exit 350, Ocala, FL 34474, 352-873-1994, Faxasak 352-873-4633. This location is open 24 hours a day and is just west of I-75 on Highway 200.
  5. Belleview, FL: The CITGO-Dunkin’ Donuts, located on Highway 484, one-tenth of a mile east of I-75.
  6. Wildwood, FL: The Station Location is located at the TA/Travel Center, located on Highway 44, just west of I-75. The telephone number for the TA/Travel Center is 352-748-2501. This travel complex is open 24 hours a day, with restaurants, a convenience store, restrooms and wifi hot spots for internet access.
  7. Florida Turnpike and US Highway 27: The Days Inn Hotel, 30290 North US Highway 27, Clermont, FL 34715. Telephone, 352-429-0483. This location has an adjoining convenience store and an on-site restaurant.
  8. Orlando International Airport. When guests arrive at the Orlando International Airport, they will board the tram to travel from their gate to the Landside Terminal of the airport. Once in the main terminal, you will most likely go to the lower level to the Baggage Claim area. Once you have collected your luggage, you will go down another level to the ground floor where the Ground Transportation Lanes are located. Terminal A and Terminal B each have a Commercial Bus Lane. There are multiple parking slots. The Florida Jitney will be parked at the appointed times in its Commercial Bus Parking slot.

    In the Terminal A, you will find us in parking spaces A-43/44.
    In Terminal B, we will be found in parking spaces B-48/49.
  9. The Mall at Millenia. This is a beautiful new retail destination for Central Florida. Consumers are known to travel hundreds of miles to browse the many department stores and specialty retail shops. The Florida Jitney makes its stops in the bus lane very near the Panera Bread Company. Panera Bread is located in between two major department stores; Bloomingdales to the right and Macy's to the left. When you are in the Panera Bread, looking out towards the parking lots, you will see the massive new IKEA off in the distance.

  10. Prime Outlets of International Drive. The distance from the Prime Outlets to the Mall at Millenia is approximately three miles. The Prime Outlets is the largest factory outlet in Central Florida and a tourist destination in its own right. The Florida Jitney stops in the bus lane, just outside the Guest Service Pavillion and is very near the Starbucks Coffee.

  11. Universal Studios. This attraction destination is beyond being a movie studio or merely an amusement park. It is a multi-faceted entertainment venue. To fully understand the features of this destination, visit their website, www.UniversalOrlando.com. Many of our guests at the Florida Jitney, utilize all of the venues within the City Walk Entertainment District. When it comes to Nightlife, no matter where you are located, City Walk is the pre-eminent destination. It is very much a district, like one you'd find in any major metropolitan city, with an abundance of restaurants, clubs, dance clubs, entertainment venues and a massive Cineplex. Our Guests often spend a day with the Parks, then the evening at City Walk, and catch one of the "Red-Eye" Jitneys to their home base.

    The Florida Jitney can be boarded in the Commercial Bus Lanes. The dispatcher can direct you to the lane that has been assigned to the Florida Jitney on any given day. The Florida Jitney does not wait beyond the scheduled departure time, so you don't want to miss the last Jitney of the day (and very popular one at that!)
